Staff Recruitment

The British Section sees itself as a sort of embassy for good UK educational practice.  It therefore systematically seeks to recruit teachers with British degrees and teaching qualifications and who have current (or very recent) experience of working in a school in the United Kingdom.

Vacancies may arise in the Primary department (which includes nursery and Early Years) or in one of the two secondary subject departments (English and History/Geography).  We are not able to hire teachers in the subjects for which the Section is not responsible and which are not taught in English: these notably include Maths, Sciences and foreign languages, including French.  Primary teachers should note that the Section’s programme concentrates on language and literacy and does not include mathematics.

Vacant teaching posts are advertised when they arise in The Times Educational Supplement and on the TES website.  Teachers interested in working for the Section may, however, address a letter and CV at any time to the Headmaster at psl@lycee-international.net, asking him to keep their details on file.

The Section also employs administrative staff and librarians.  These are in general local recruits.  In all cases appropriate qualifications are required – and notably, bilingual fluency in English and French.
