Inspection Methodology
The inspection was conducted using the Inspection Framework of the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) in the United Kingdom [UK]. This is closely modelled on the Framework for inspection of maintained [state] schools. The criteria for evaluating standards, progress, learning and teaching were taken directly from the ISI Framework. In other circumstances, it was used selectively to reflect the particular circumstances of the British section, for example the part-time nature of the provision and the status of the Section within the French system.
The prime purpose of inspection in the UK is to report on the standards achieved by pupils, given their age and ability; the progress they make; their capacity to learn; and the quality of teaching and management. Inspections also evaluate the quality of the school as an institution, its management, leadership and governance and its ethos.
